Air Rarotonga operates regular flights between the two islands with a flight time of around 45 minutes. Alternatively, visitors can take a ferry from Rarotonga to Aitutaki, which takes approximately 3 hours and operates once a week. Things to see and do: - Explore the Lagoon: Aitutaki is best known for its stunning lagoon, which is often considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Visitors can take a lagoon cruise, go snorkeling or diving or simply relax on one of the many deserted beaches. One of the best ways to explore the lagoon is by taking a Vaka Cruise which includes a visit to the world-famous One Foot Island. - Visit the Main Village: Aitutaki's main village, Arutanga, is home to several historical sites and cultural landmarks. When to visit: The best time to visit Aitutaki is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. During this time, the weather is warm and sunny, with little to no rain. The high season for tourism is from June to August, so visitors should book accommodation and activities well in advance. The wet season, which runs from November to April, can be hot and humid with occasional heavy rain and the possibility of cyclones.
